Although Staindrop has always been linked to Raby Castle and its owners, it has always maintained its own identity as a lovely Teesdale village. Among the most impressive in England, the Castle can be seen by the general public. The mediaeval core of the estate has been preserved and is now surrounded by a walled garden and a 200-acre deer park. Staindrop's broad village green is surrounded by a variety of fascinating businesses, taverns, and cafes. Barnard Castle, a market town with a castle, the Bowes Museum, and a plethora of shops and cafes, is just 5 miles away. Teesdale is a great place to go for a walk.

It was just myself and my husband with 1 little dog and the weather was perfect so was able to sit outside in the garden. This cottage is only small so anymore than 3 people in it i think you would be on top of each other. But we loved it. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of room to cook in the kitchen and very close to the shop, pub and bus stops. there was a welcome pack, which was very much appreciated. Thanks again Mike

I would have liked a hoover designated for the property and not shared with next door as I like to ensure a property is clean when I leave. Lovely location, walks form the door, a great spot for exploring the area, thoroughly recommend.

Lovely cottage but as above . Lovely sofas but not a lot of space when switched television off it kept coming back on . Kitchen adequate for 2. I must complain about the oven please take a look sorry to say but it was filthy hadnât been cleaned for a long time so didnât use it . One casserole dish I picked up and broke in my hand full of cracks .
