It's a pleasant little village that attracts trekkers because of its proximity to Kinder Scout. Families (and those who prefer more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills, while serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way, and Snake Path, while serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way, and Snake Path. Edale, a different start point for the Pennine Way, is just a few kilometres distant. With taverns, cafes, and restaurants, the area caters well to tourists. We had lovely days out exploring the little towns and villages and the beautiful area, and it was always so nice to come back to the utter peace and quiet of the cottage. Even the sheep and cows are so chilled out. We cannot fault the cottage and its location. Thank you for a lovely week. Micky & Joy Williams (10 to 17 May 2024)
