Snaptrip says

Blantyre Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and comprehensive facilities. Guests appreciate the well-equipped space, warm decor, and the property's suitability for both relaxation and as a base for exploring the Highlands. While some mention traffic noise and minor issues, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous guests noting it was immaculate and well-maintained. A single mention of an oversight in cleaning prior to arrival was quickly rectified, indicating attentive management.

The location is generally well-regarded as a great base for exploring the Highlands, though some guests noted traffic noise due to proximity to a main road. The convenience to local amenities and attractions balances out the concerns about noise for most visitors.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and the sun room. Suggestions for improvements like mattress toppers and the presence of a busy road slightly affect the perfect comfort score.

The cottage is celebrated for its well-equipped nature and thoughtful amenities. However, a few guests mentioned the lack of a dishwasher and tumble dryer, which were either expected or advertised, leading to a slightly lower score.

While the reviews reflect a high level of satisfaction with the cottage's offerings and the thoughtfulness of its amenities, there is no specific mention of gifts provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to score this category.

Situated within the small village of Muir of Ord, this all ground-floor holiday accommodation is perfect for families to explore this magical countryside and visit the towns of Beauly, Dingwall, and the capital city of the Highlands, Inverness. Enter Blantyre Cottage by the main door at side of the building making your way into the warmth of the sitting/dining room, where a charming coal-effect fire offers a sense of tranquillity during the cold winter months. Sink into the sofa with a good book in hand to unwind or while away a couple of hours with your loved ones at the dining table, playing a board game brought from home. Look forward to cooking up a storm within the well-equipped kitchen, retrieving ingredients from the fridge/freezer and making use of the mod cons, and the breakfast bar makes a great spot for enjoying a glass of wine whilst dinner simmers on the hob. Completing the interior of this all ground-floor property is the double bedroom and a twin bedroom with a zip/link feature, allowing you to amend the set up to suit the needs of your group. There is an external utility, so that you can get laundry done after a muddy walk around, with space for storing your bikes and other outdoor equipment.

Within the garden, enjoy your morning coffee whilst overlooking the golf course, or enjoy a spot of alfresco dining while your canine companion has a run around.

Enjoy a scenic stroll into the centre of the village, home to a selection of shops for picking up the essentials, a bakery, a café, a takeaway and a number of hotels with bars, for that well-deserved beverage. Attractions within the town include the neighbouring golf course, the 17th Century Kilcoy Castle and the award-winning Glen Ord Distillery Visitor Centre, famous for producing the only remaining single malt scotch whisky distillery on the Black Isle.

Historical landmarks, which are worth a visit within the area, include the Touchstone Maze, the ruins of the Red Castle in Killearnan and the Beaufort Castle, a Baronial-style mansion built in 1880. For those seeking walking routes, you can discover the Dunglass Island, stroll around Loch Ussie or enjoy the beautiful scenery of Reelig Glen.

Had to empty the hoover as it was packed right to the max.other that we enjoyed the holiday. Andrew have already booked for August.24th.

Trays for oven also greasy to touch. A shame because very comfortable cottage. Would not return because next to very busy rd and garden could be more private.

  • Richard

It was always warm, heating on 2/3 times a day. The property is on the side of the road but we were never disturbed by the traffic noise. We have been a couple of times and it’s a great place to stay to travel around Scotland.
